CLIMAR and Skating Panda: Introducing our Impact Framework

CLIMAR’s intended outcomes and impact
We want:
- our stakeholders to be better equipped;
- our members to feel connected and part of a community
- our action to improve
- our understanding to improve
- to think differently.
These outcomes will lead to our intended impact: for the CLIMAR network to galvanise network members through knowledge exchange, leading to the co-creation of transdisciplinary solutions and actions.
How is CLIMAR bringing about these outcomes?
There is always more that can be done to ensure the effectiveness of a network. We have identified some things that are already being done; we have also identified things we need to start doing, or do better.
- Stakeholders feeling better equipped: we are writing policy briefs touching on nine AMR-CC touchpoints; working to provide visibility on how CLIMAR supports the UK National AMR Action Plan, and working to develop an active social media presence.
- Members feeling part of a community: we are improving our communication and inviting members to contribute, and organising semi-regular webinars and, next year, annual face-to-face meetings
- Improved action: we need to engage more in active policy discourse, and closely track network impact
- Improved understanding: we need to work on bringing together and making accessible research on the relationship between AMR and CC that is both impactful and cutting edge, making CLIMAR a knowledge hub in this area. Our members repository makes a start on this, and we need to continue building it. We are also looking to pull together key papers that informed CLIMAR’s mission and show how how it has entered into AMR-CC discourse.
- To think differently: We are engaging in a transdisciplinary fashion, and are putting plans in place within our Working Groups to champion systems thinking and raise key messaging out of the network for a wider audience.
How will CLIMAR measure its impact?
We need to establish a baseline across the network for these outcomes. At the start of the new academic year, we will send out a short baseline survey to all network members to assess CLIMAR’s current impact. We will then aim for similar, short surveys to be sent out at six-monthly intervals, in order to measure the network’s impact within this framework.
